Karen Ruth "Ren" Sinaguglia, age 58 of Torrance, CA, died Wednesday, September 26 in Los Angeles, CA. Karen was born September 10, 1954 to Ignatius "Lenny" and Mercedes "Nena" Sinaguglia. She was the third of four children. Karen is survived by her mother, Nena of Torrance, her brother, Mark and his wife, Pamela of Los Angeles and brother, Brian and his wife, Dolores of Torrance. She also is survived by her nephews, Cody Sinaguglia, Jason Elwell, niece, Jessica Elwell and her three children, Brody, Jordyn and Lily. Karen was a member of St. James Church in Redondo Beach and a member of the Centinela Valley Lodge #1991 Order of the Sons of Italy in America. She graduated from West High School in Torrance in 1972 and attended Cerritos College. She worked for Rockwell and Boeing for some 20 years and then at Cal State University Long Beach as Administrative Assistant in the Athletics Department. She was very athletic and enjoyed playing and watching many sports. Karen unselfishly took care of her parents for many years and was preceded in death by her father, Lenny and her sister, Judith. Karen's favorite place to vacation was Yosemite National Park spending many trips with friends there over the years. She had a tremendous sense of humor and could light up a room with her beautiful smile. She loved to collect Eyores, Gnomes and Pandas. Country music was her favorite. She enjoyed photography which she learned from her dad. In lieu of flowers the family has asked to donate to the Sons of Italy 1744 W. Carson Street, Torrance, CA 90501 to the attention of Karen Sinaguglia scholarship fund. A memorial celebration of Karen's life will take place on Saturday, October 20 at 2PM at Rice Mortuary, 5310 Torrance Blvd., Torrance, CA. Condolences can be sent to memoriesofren@gmail.com.
