Mike was one of my best friends in high school. Although he was 2 years ahead of me, somehow we just hit it off. When I was a sophomore, he helped get me a job washing dishes at 'The Chafing Dish.' He also helped me learn to drive. I remember him being funny, wild, and absolutely fearless. While walking to his house one summer day, I took a short cut through La Romerio Park. There were several guys I'd never seen before, and for some reason, they decided to harass me. Before I knew it, I was surrounded. Just when I thought I was in for a major butt-kicking, Mike and his neihbor Pat showed up. Good ol' Mike got right in the middle and dared someone to throw the 1st punch. No one took him up on it. We spent many hours at the beach, cruising Venice, and playing pool at his house. I was always sad that I lost touch with him when he moved to VIsalia, but I guess that happens. I was shocked when I found out he was already gone. RIP my friend.
