I just want to let you know that my good friend John Focarazzo, West High 1972 graduate died in an auto accident in 2005. I read the eulogy at his funeral
I remember John from grammer school. We were friends (just friends) but took different directions once we got to West. After Sepulveda I don't think I ever talked to him except by chance once years later when we were both picking up to-go pizzas from some place in Redondo or Hermosa. He was doing well.
John was a really nice guy, even to the geeky new girl (me) who transferred into the class of 1968 at Sepulveda :). I enjoyed our conversations. When I knew him, in addition to being kind, he was also pretty quiet, despite being very attractive. I remember that the girls liked him a lot :).
He's listed as "Joe" Focarazzo in a photo currently on the West 72 Facebook page. If that was his real first name, I don't remember that from 8th grade graduation (when everyone's whole name that was different in any way got broadcast)... all I remember is "John". RIP Friend.
