Went home to be with the Lord on November 13, 2013. He was born in Los Angeles on July 24, 1963, a birthday that he shared with his dad. He was born to James and Harriet Phillips and grew up in Torrance, CA. He played soccer on one of the first AYSO teams in Torrance, the Roadrunners. He graduated from West High in 1982. He worked for Boeing, in El Segundo for 30 years. He raised his family in La Mirada, CA. He is survived by his mother, Harriet Phillips of Sun City West, AZ; daughter, Erika (Christopher); son ,Jimmy; grandson, Bradly; sister, Amy (Rick); brother, Rick (Wendi); nephews, Derek, Tanner and Wyatt; and nieces, Kirsten and Kyra. He always knew how to put a smile on your face and will be truly missed. A "Celebration of Life" will be held Friday, December 6th at 3:00 at Morningstar Chapel, 16241 Leffingwell Rd. Whittier, CA 90603. In honor of Roger's love of the ocean, please wear Aloha or Beach attire. A gathering will follow at The La Mirada Activity Center.
