In Memory

Michael Johnston - Class Of 1963

From: Joyce (Waller) Rekstad 05-18-13

In memory of Michael Johnston class of '63. Michael always would save a seat for me on the bus when we both went to South High. I will always remember his laugh, his enthusiasm for our band, his coin clubs, photography, and yes as a shootist with all the clothing from the "Wild West Era". He asked me to make authentic vests and shirts for him to wear at competition events. Unfortunately Michael became ill earlier in the year and was doing better, suddenly in March Michael pased away.

His memory will live on through his wonderful photography. He captured the moment a deer was drinking in a stream and other shots from around the world. He had numerous friends and close neighbors who were his family. Michael had a way of connecting people together.

I will miss our phone calls talking about the weather in Idaho, his band, substitute teaching at the local school, going to a gun meet as well as stocks. He will be missed by many especially his mom and dad and his very close friends. "And the band played on......." Rest in Peace.
