Maureen and I were good friends in and out of school. She would show me the nasty passages in "The Tin Drum". I once kissed Sheila Spurgeon to make Maureen jealous. We lost contact after school until I ran into her mother in 1995 (her mom was a nurse and helped deliver my oldest daughter in 1975). Maureen and I reconnected and visited many times up until her death from leukemia in 2001. She was beautiful person inside and out. I'm glad I was able to tell her I loved her before she passed away.
Maureen was a great friend throughout high school. I have many fond memories of the times we spent together. We shared classes in sewing, she was a fine seamstress, we both served in the "hostess-service" club....and served at many athletic banquets together. We were able to have fun and find humor at these events.
It was a pleasure to call Maureen a friend long after high school. Maureen went on to marry and have a beautiful daughter. I was saddened by her terminal cancer and so sorry that she left this earth at such a young age. But so greatful to have shared in her life!

Maureen, Kimberley Benton and I went on "pirates of the Caribbean" together soon after it first opened. I sat between two beautiful girls.
