Larry died early in the morning of Friday, October 13, 1972, at Little Company of Mary Hospital after suffering injuries - broken ribs, punctured lung, and fractured skull - in a car cash that took place on October 1st of that year. The accident took place on the street where he lived in Torrance when he attended WHS. At the time of the accident he was living in Redondo Beach. He lost control of his car, it jumped the curb, and hit a tree. His girlfriend, Leslie MacZuga, was a passenger in the car and sustained a broken leg. His funeral mass was recited at St Margaret Mary in Lomita, and he was buried at Holy Cross Cemetery, Culver City, next to his father.
