I was married to her brother 73-82. Tim Zielinski who passed away 7-25-10. Elaine died from a horrific boat accident in Anchorage, Alaska on Memorial Weekend 1981. The accident killed her husband and 9 year old son. They never found her body. Her husband and son Scott and Jeffrey Daggett are buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, California. She was very smart and sweet.

Thanks, Patricia, for updating Elaine's information. I had heard at the 20th year reunion that she had died but no information was known. I remember Elaine fondly and studied with her sometimes in the library. As you said, she was a very sweet person and I think of her from time to time.

I was stunned to find out what happed to Elaine.  Now I know why all my searches through the years were in vain.  We had many great lunch times together at West, along with walking home from school when we missed the bus.  She was the sweetest, nicest, smartest person and funny too.   I am glad to have had such memorable times with her.    We clicked right away, when I asked her if she had relatives in Wisconsin.  My mother's family came from Wisconsin and their name was Zielinski.  It turned out we weren't related but we became good friends.  Rest in Peace my friend.

Elaine and I always sat in Homeroom together because our last names began with "Z." So sad to hear about her.
