David, I just heard from your sister Cheryl, she has just told me that you are gone, passed away. I'm in shock. As is everyone who knows. Your family most of all. You were this sweet, blonde, little brother of my best friend Cheryl, always hanging out in you room when I was there, never loud or obnoxious like most little brother could be, just super mellow and into sports. Later in life when I saw you, I was shocked to see this 6'+ handsome MAN , somehow we've ALL grown older! I know your family are so proud of who you are as a man and as a father. You will be missed David, I love you, Shelly

I miss you still...you were ready to leave, but I wasn't ready to say goodbye. I will always remember you as my handsome, silly, shy and stubborn little brother. You will always be loved.

David John Stablein, 49 years old, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. Born May 28, 1962 in Los Angeles, CA, he grew up in Torrance and graduated from West High School in 1980. David is survived by his children, Troy Davis and Kylie Paige of Anaheim Hills, CA; father, Chick Stablein of Woodcrest, CA; two sisters, Cheryl Harmon (Steve) of La Habra, CA; Jodi Oviedo (Randy) of La Mirada, CA; brother, Ron Stablein (Jill) of San Marcos, CA; 9 nieces and nephews and 14 grand nieces and grand nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jackie Stablein. David worked for Westar Plumbing since 1998 as a Journeyman Plumber. David enjoyed spending time with his children cooking epic meals, vacations at the river and lake, golfing with family and friends, watching football, especially the Redskins and family get-togethers from BBQ's and events to watching his favorite band, MO50. David often got together with former classmates and friends to just hang out and enjoy the good ol' days! The memorial service for David was March 14. 2012 at Green Hills Baptist Church in La Habra and was attended by many, many loved ones who came to pay their respects and say their last farewells.

Mike Hessing (1976)

My belated condolences to the family.  I only knew David as the younger brother of Ron who I wrestled with way back in the 70's.  It seems as though more and more of us are 'departing' these days.  I lost my Sister Carmen back in 2002.  My love for her lives on, though she is not here, as will yours.

Peace to you,

Mike
