For Sharon, My Friend
How I wish you were still here,
together, we made plans,
a class reunion to attend,
together on this next one,
we both agreed,
to laugh and have fun,
loads upon loads,
laughter would abound,
this we promised each other,
was how it was to be.
Your laughter still lingers,
from wonderful times shared,
somewhat innocent but always sincere,
together, when we were so young and carefree.
My heart remembers,
and thoughts of you remain,
you will never be forgotten,
sweet friend of memory,
pals in plots,
buddy’s in fun,
these things I recall,
that bring so many memories.
You have been called friend by many,
and many friends you still have,
our friendship is unending,
God intended it so,
and Upon His glory
all will be restored,
we will again laugh,
together and so merrily,
just as it was and better than before,
When that glorious day arrives,
and Jesus Himself returns,
His promises steadfast and true,
He will gather us all,
together again and for always and forevermore.
