Mr. Bawden taught biology at West High for several years, beginning when the school opened in 1962.
Later he became the student activities director, then an assistant principal at another school, then the TUSD director of Special Education followed by being named the principal of West High School.
Later he became a TUSD assistant superintendent.
He was extremely active in his church & devoted to his family. Several past and present West High & TUSD personnel attended his funeral in Huntington Beach.

I had him for Biology when I was a Junior and I never forgot what he said about the human body: we are all "walking sticks with an anus!" Quite a thing to say to impressionable minds. Even so, he was a lot of fun!

Mr Bawden was the best teacher I ever had! He influenced my life more than any other. I appreciated his caring nurturing attitude.
