I'm sorry to hear that Mr. McMurray passed away.  He was a good teacher.  He always sounded like Jimmy Stewart to me.

I visited Mr. McMurray a few years before he retired.  He looked the same to me as he did in 1970.  He claimed to remember me but I think he was just being kind.  He influenced me in so many ways.  Due to his teaching I became involved in politics and a political history major.  I actually ran for local public office (and won!) in the 1990's.  I didn't expect to win but thought Mr. McMurray would have been proud to know that I made the effort.

I am sad to hear that he didn't get to enjoy too many years of his retirement.

Mr. McMurray was one of my favorites!  I'm sorry to hear of his passing.  He told me at graduation he would never forget me.  When I saw him 5 years later at my brother's graduation he did not remember me. LOL  I reminded him he said he'd never forget me and he replied "I did."  I still admired him!

Mr. Mc Murray was probably one of the most "thought-provoking" teachers I had at WHS. He and I had a very "lively" relationship - he made me think and laugh a lot and I'm sorry to hear that he is no longer here with us and that he won't be at the 50th Celebration.  Thanks, Mr. McMurray, for all the English and Drama coaching - you were GRRReat!

Another wonerful teacher of mine that has passed on.  For some supid reason I didn't expect to find that some of my teachers and the principal who would call me into his office for any spelling mistakes I made while typing the daily bulletin.

Mr. McMurray, truly one of my favorite teachers - a genuine guy who made his class fun and interesting! Sorry we can't see him at the celebration, but we'll all be thinking of him and that crazy mustache!

I became acquainted with Mr. McMurray when I first started teaching at West High quite a few years ago.  He was such a thoughtful gentleman, always friendly and pleasant.  I'm sure he must have been wonderful with his students because I often heard nice things spoken about him.  Before he retired, he gave me a handwritten note of acknowledgment.  He just wanted to let me know that I was appreciated.  The little courtesies of considerate people make such a difference in people's lives.  What a kind person he was.  I appreciated him, too.
