I really liked Mr. Szilagyi.  I had him for Graphic Arts back in 1977 and 1978.  I can still smell the Graphic arts room and see him sitting there at his desk.  He also drove a really, really cool restored truck.  It all just seems like yesterday for me.  I did some homework and found out the following:  Howard Irwin Szilagyi was born Aug 22, 1945 and passed away Oct. 22, 2007 in Torrance CA.  He is buried next to his brother, Melvin, at the Hillside Memorial Park in Culver City.  He was of the Jewish faith.  Cool guy.

Other than the impact altheltics and the coaches like Mike Eaton had on me...... "Mr. Szilagyi" had the greatest impact on my life and future business. I had 3 classes with him in my last term including "Teachers Aid".  Not only did we have what I would consider a "friendship" but I know he knew how much I enjoyed the printing we did together.  He let me rebuild the Cheif 20A press and when we got it running the 1st job I printed was the Teacher's Strike posters.  I went on to get an AA & BS degrees in printing and have been in the business since 1980.  I regret not finding him years later and I am sad for his lose but thankful for his memories. Joe B.
